Solar Power Energy Could Rescue Us

We are in the middle of a bad energy crisis today. More and more of our fossil fuels are being consumer. The prices are going up for these too. All of us need to be rescued from this problem! A cheaper energy source needs to be found and used today. Many people have discovered one though. It could just be that solar power energy could rescue us; many are already using it in fact.

Solar energy is now being used to heat homes, provide electricity, and even heat the water. It also is being used to run calculators and other small solar-powered devices. Solar powered cars are being worked on too. All of these ways of using solar power energy is helping to rescue us from this energy crisis of ours. More needs to be done, though.

With energy costing so much, more people need to switch to solar. It can cost them anywhere from 30% to 100% less on their power bills, depending on how they use it at their house. It definitely saves on pollution since it leaves no carbon footprint. Unlike the fossil fuels, the solar energy is 100% renewable too.

There are also passive ways of using the sun to help us warm our houses. By allowing the sun into your house at the right time of day, it can help to heat your house. This can cut down on heating cost too. This is usually through windows that are facing south. Some houses are built special to allow maximum sunlight in for lighting and heating purposes. They have plenty of large windows especially on the south wall. Mixing the passive form of solar with the other forms or solar power energy is truly and effective means of utilizing the sun's energy to your favour.

Solar panels are often installed on the roof of the house or somewhere near the house. They can be installed on the ground when necessary. They sun needs to hit the panels a good 8 hours a day at least for them to perform to maximum potential. If too many trees are in the way it will cut done of the efficiency of the panels.

Also, there are batteries for storing up the energy and the power must be converted to a form the house can use. A house uses AC power and the way the panels collect and process the sun's energy makes DC power that then has to be converted to AC to be properly used in the house.

This is just one way that solar power energy is generated for your house. Other methods do exist as in the photovoltaic. These cells were first invented for the use on the satellites that orbit the earth. Now they even power your calculator along with other devices.
